The Capt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center invites the public to an open house on Thurs., June 11, at the facility’s main campus in North Chicago. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Interim Undersecretary for Health Dr. Carolyn Clancy will attend to meet staff and patients.

This annual event provides current and prospective patients, their families and the public the opportunity to learn about Lovell Federal Health Care Center and our wide range of services for Veterans, military retirees, service members and their dependents. The open house will give guests general information about registration and Lovell FHCC health promotions. Additionally, subject matter experts will answer questions about billing, non-VA care and TRICARE.

New this year, visitors may tour the facility, including primary care clinics and specialty care clinics such as orthopedics, cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, podiatry, optometry and more. Ancillary services such as physical therapy and rehabilitation, prosthetics, audiology and imaging also will be open to visitors. Guests may visit acute care wards, including the medical-surgical and intensive care units. Geriatric and long-term care facilities, including one of Lovell FHCC’s state-of-the-art Green House homes, will host tours and staff will explain eligibility requirements.

Mental Health providers will be available to answer questions about the wide range of mental health care available at Lovell FHCC, including services such as post-traumatic stress disorder treatment, vocational rehabilitation, military sexual trauma counseling, peer-support services, homelessness services, addiction treatment programs and more.
